Oreskes Claim of Scientific Consensus on Global Warming; Debunked Mar. 6, 2014

Science historian and Harvard Kennedy School professor Naomi Oreskes was recently cited in the Harvard Gazette as claiming a scientific consensus on global climate change based on her 2004 survey, but Friends of Science say that in 2007 they sent Oreskes a report by Madhav Khandekar disputing her claim; Benny Peiser re-ran Oreskes survey in 2005 and found only 1.2% or 13 scientists out of 1,117 agreed with the Anthropogenic (human-caused) Global Warming (AGW) declaration. Friends of Science recently released a deconstruction of the 4 most-cited 97% surveys showing only 1-3% stated agreement with IPCC declarations and say Oreskes' continued claim discredits Harvard Kennedy School.

Secretary Kerry - the Global Warming Catastrophe is Cancelled Feb. 27, 2014

Friends of Science dispute Secretary of State John Kerry's claims that Indonesia is at risk from human-caused climate change and debunk the notion that carbon is pollution, noting that carbon dioxide drives agricultural productivity and related economic benefits. Based on the last 10 years of evidence, the predicted global warming climate catastrophe has been cancelled; therefore EPA definitions of carbon as well as the Anthropogenic Global Warming theory should be revised accordingly say Friends of Science adding that the sun is the main driver of climate change, not CO2.

California Experienced Mega-Epoch Droughts Long Before Fossil Fuels Feb. 19, 2014

Recent comments by President Obama and Mayor Garcetti of Los Angeles are misinformed about Californian drought, say Friends of Science, citing the historic evidence of mega-epoch droughts throughout the Medieval Warm Period. Global warming stopped naturally about 16 years ago; droughts are affected by the position of the jet stream and other natural factors according to scientific experts.

Courageous Women Challenge Global Warming Goliaths Feb. 13, 2014

Climate scientist Judith Curry, science writer Joanne Nova and investigative journalist Donna Laframboise challenge the male-dominated global warming Goliaths in the climate science field with blunt, probing questions about the waning evidence of carbon dioxide as a climate 'knob'; and questionable practices by various organizations. Friends of Science salute these women who are willing to take on the contentious, climate science establishment. Curry's testimony refers to 'the pause' in global warming and its implications: "The stagnation in greenhouse warming observed over the past 15+ years demonstrates that CO2 is not a control knob on climate variability."

Faulty Global Warming Scaremongering Not the Role of IMF Feb. 6, 2014

Responding to hyperbolic rhetoric on climate change by Christine Lagarde, head of the International Monetary Fund, Friends of Science point out that her comments are not supported by the recent IPCC report, the exaggerated climate models' failed predictions or the evidence of no global warming in 16+ years. Unrestrained terrifying statements are damaging the mental health of children and youth; in fact Friends of Science recent report on the alleged 97% consensus shows only 1-3% of scientists in 3 of 4 "consensus" surveys explicitly stated agreement with the IPCC declarations on global warming, and no agreement with a catastrophic view.
