White House Climate Brochures

David Legates (White House Office of Science and Technology Policy) asked several expert climate scientists to write short, easily understandable brochures that supported the general view that there is no climate crisis or climate emergency, and pointing out the widespread misinformation being promoted by alarmists through the media. They were intended to be placed on the White House website but with the change of government in Washington DC, that didn't happen. The articles present the current state-of-the-science on various topics of climate change.  It starts with an Introduction by Dr. David Legates, followed by nine articles by top experts.

Introduction by Dr. David Legates

An introduction to the article series

The Sun Climate Connection  by Drs. Michael Connolly, Ronan Connolly, Willie Soon

"If these high [solar] variability estimates are correct, then it is plausible that much (or even most) of the climate changes since the 19th century might have been solar-driven."

Systematic Problems in the Four National Assessments of Climate Change Impacts on the US by Dr. Patrick Michaels

" the four extant documents represent some of the most egregious distortions of science in service of policy that have ever been published."

Record Temperatures in the United States by Dr. John Christy

" the 1930s was a remarkable decade for producing record hot days and the today’s occurrences are no different than the frequency experienced at the beginning of the period. Record hot days are not occurring more often than before."

Radiation Transfer by Dr. William Happer

" the flux changes from doubling the concentrations of greenhouse gases, a very substantial change, reduces the radiation to space by only a few Wm-2. This is only a few per cent [about 1.5%] of the several hundred Wm-2 in the natural flux to space"

Is There a Climate Emergency by Dr. Ross McKitrick

"Global warming over the past 200 years has been slow and manageable while global living standards have risen dramatically."

Hurricanes and Climate Change by Dr. Ryan Maue

" it is premature to conclude with high confidence that increasing atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations from human activities have had a detectable impact on Atlantic basin hurricane activity"

Climate, Climate Change, and the General Circulation by Dr. Anthony Lupo

"For the general circulation phenomena surveyed here, there is generally low confidence and/or a weak consensus in future climate model scenarios."

Can Computer Models Predict Climate by Dr. Christopher Essex

"This questionable closure invites the vision of climate as a control problem. But it would be control over something that is not actually climate through a function that exists only in the radiative-convective models."

The Faith-Based Nature of Human-Caused Global Warming by Dr. Roy Spencer

"the tiny energy imbalance causing recent warming is very small compared to the large uncertainties in the natural energy flows in the climate system. This leaves the possibility that climate change could still be mostly natural."
